Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Smart OCR API and dashboard ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Smart OCR provides an intelligent Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and schema-mapping API. The Service processes uploaded documents and returns structured JSON data.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys. Any activity occurring under your API key is your sole responsibility. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your API keys or account.

Merchant of Record: Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Credit System: The Service operates on a prepaid credit system (1 Credit = 1 Page processed). Credits do not expire as long as your account remains active.

Overage: If your account runs out of credits, API requests will return a 402 Payment Required status until the balance is replenished.

You agree not to use the API to:

• Process documents containing illegal material, child exploitation, or non-consensual explicit content.
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of our routing algorithms.
• Perform automated, high-volume stress testing (DDoS) against our endpoints without prior authorization.

The Service utilizes third-party AI models (including but not limited to AWS, Google, and OpenAI) for text extraction and schema mapping. While we strive for high accuracy, we do not guarantee 100% data extraction accuracy. The Service is provided "as is," and we are not liable for any financial losses resulting from inaccurate data extraction or API downtime.

These terms shall be governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
