Refund Policy

Because Smart OCR incurs immediate compute costs (AWS, Google, OpenAI) the moment an API request is processed, our refund policy is strictly structured as follows:
1. Unused Credits
If you purchase a credit package and have not used any credits, you are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of the purchase date.
2. Partially Used Credits
We do not offer prorated refunds for partially used credit packages. Once a credit package has been partially consumed, the remaining balance cannot be refunded.
3. Technical Failures
If a system error on our end results in credits being deducted without returning the requested API response (e.g., a server timeout or failure to route), our system is designed to automatically rollback the credit deduction. If you believe credits were deducted in error due to a bug, please contact support with the specific request timestamp and we will manually restore the lost credits.
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund for an unused package, please email support@smartocr.dev with your account email and order receipt. Because Paddle acts as our Merchant of Record, approved refunds will be processed through Paddle and returned to your original payment method.
